I actually read enough this month to warrant doing a little wrap-up!
Books I read in March
Washington Black by Esi Edugyan
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Mini-review: This book was something a little different to my usual reads, however, I’m thinking maybe I should stick to what I know I love as this one didn’t really do it for me! Read my full review here!
Guess Who by Chris McGeorge
Rating: ⭐⭐
Mini-review: It’s been a long time since I truly disliked a book, but here we are! I was hoping for the “twisty mystery” as advertised on the back but alas, this was dull. Full review is coming soon!
Everything else I did in March (lol)
Well, hasn’t March been the strangest of months? Everything started off as normal, Covid-19 a scary but far away reality and then BOOM! We’re in full lock-down with no place to go.
As I expect to see from most people’s March updates, I’ve been quarantining at home with my SO, Owen, and not doing an awful lot with my time! I was made to work from home quite early on, about a week before the “lock-down” happened. Owen is living at mine full-time until he can go back to work (he’s in non-essential construction so can’t currently work). I was working from home for a brief period of time but I have now been furloughed.
To pass the time, Owen and have been gaming (separately, him on COD and me on Animal Crossing), we’ve also watched a fair chunk of movies and, of course, jumped on the hype train and finished The Tiger King on Netflix.
I’ve been finding it really hard to read during the quarantine despite having so much free time! I’m currently reading two books: Invisible Women and A Kiss Before Dying. The latter being an easier, more digestible book which I’m flying through.
Anyway, that’s all for March! I hope you’re all keeping well and staying safe. Sending all my love to you and your families in this bizarre and scary time! Here’s to hoping April is a little more positive ❤
It is a weird time to be sure! My husband is working from home and my 7-year-old is being taught remotely with me being the home teacher to make sure she does her work. I can;t get my head around the fact that this thing is happening worldwide. Stay healthy! x

It’s insane isn’t it! As long as we’re all sticking to the rules and staying home, that’s all that matters at the moment 🙂 Keep safe! x

It’s a gorgeous cover, the only reason I bought it was because my SO saw it in the shop and liked the cover haha!

Stay safe! Things are crazy right now, but hopefully you’ll be able to settle into a routine and enjoy your books with this unexpected free time. I think one of the big problems for most of us is something you touched on at the beginning of this post: it all seemed to happen so fast. I know we’ll adjust, it just doesn’t seem like we have had the time we need to do that adjusting yet.
