Books bought or received this month

Purchased: 3
Gifted: 7

  • I was super lucky this month and won @cutlookbookloose‘s secondhand giveaway. I got to pick whatever books I like from World of Books, and because they have a 3 for 2 offer on, I managed to get 7 books!
  • For this month’s Busy Mama Book Swap I was partnered with @chloes_reads and she treated me to two books – The Binding and Exquisite Corpse

Book goal update

Obviously I didn’t progress very far this month, however I’m still ahead of schedule, so I’m happy!

Here are the pics I posted on IG this month! I’ve also had a bad Instagram month… (Pls follow my account, linked in the heading above!)

Personal update

This month has been difficult for me in my personal life. My mental health has been atrocious and I can’t escape the fact that it’s seriously hindered my reading. I have finally got to the doctors and I’ve been put on medication, plus I’m starting therapy on the 9th – which I’m really excited about.

I have done several nice things this month, like celebrating my friends birthday, celebrating a friends engagement, going to my uncle’s retirement party, attending a work event, etc, but all of this has been overshadowed by my mental health.

What has come off the back this bad month are a couple of new close friendships which I really appreciate. I would be a dithering mess without the support of my friends.

That’s a wrap

So that’s it for this month, I hope you all had a nice July too! What were some of your highlights of this month?

  1. Hooray for good friends! I hope August is a good month for you, and that you’re able to get a handle on your mental health. There’s all sorts of cliched things I could say, but honestly it looks like you’re on the right track with the things you’re trying.

  2. LOVE ALL OF YOUR PHOTOS! Also, I’m super excited for the Fight Club read-a-long!

Also, good on you about discussing your mental health. So many people deal with this yet don’t seek help. It’s such a taboo topic when it doesn’t need to be.

Know that you can always reach out to me, darlin’. AND that you are most DEFINITELY not alone ❤
