I saw this fun tag on Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts blog and I really liked the concept of it, or should I say, I liked how easy it would be to complete. More content on my blog for little effort? That’s a win in my books ladies and gentlemen!
Anyway, let’s see if I’ve been good this year…
The Rules
- Tag & link the person who tagged you.
- Tag and link Jenniely’s post, for she’s love to read everyone’s answers!
- Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done.
- Tag another 10 people.
✔ Received an ARC and not reviewed it – yes… to my shame, a lot of yes…
Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley – I haven’t looked at my Netgalley for an age, but no, I have 75%!
✔ Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did) – yep, there’s a few of these on my GR shelf currently…
✔ Folded down the page of a book – yes, I’m an active dog-earer!
✔ Accidentally spilled on a book – yep, I spilt tea on the cover of a book, luckily it just wiped off
✔ DNF a book this year – ha ha ha, yep, 8 books!
✔ Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it – yes, I recently got a cute copy of LOTR I probs won’t read because I needed change for parking
Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework) – no, it’s the other way round for me… I’d be doing something else rather than reading…
✔ Skim read a book – you bet!
✔ Completely missed your Goodreads goal – yes again, missed it by 10 books
Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library – no, I don’t use the library
✔ Broke a book buying ban – this whole year should have been a book buying ban… so yes
✔ Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about – I’ve done this a hell of a lot!
Wrote in a book you were reading – never, this is a huge pet hate of mine!
Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads – no way, I need all the books I can get to make my GR goal look good!
Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend – no, I just buy myself the book, never borrow
✔ Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book – yes, I wouldn’t let my mum read a book while we were on holiday cause her books are always majorly destroyed once she’s read them. Other than that, I’ve been much better at giving out my books this year!
Broke the spine of someone else’s book – GOD NO, another massive pet hate!
Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged – I always take the dust jacket but I haven’t ruined a book by doing it! So no…
✔ Sat on a book accidentally – I’m not sure on this one, I mean… probably!
Final Score: 12 out of 20
I’m definitely on the naughty list, I’ve done over half of these things. I’m getting coal for Christmas!

Ahahahah I laughed so hard about the needed-change-for-parking bit. I think that’s the first time I’ve heard of that — but hey, totally valid! I once bought a book simply because I didn’t want to spend a bus ride in silence (I had left my then-current read at home) and it had a cute cover. I don’t think I read more than just the prologue to be honest…

Haha love that excuse too!! Don’t want to spend a bus journey on your own!

This is a fun tag! I’m with you on the no-spine-breaking thing. That’s something I never do intentionally either.

been seeing this tag everywhere and it’s been fun reading about other bloggers’ reading habits 😀 i’m definitely guilty of being overwhelmed on netgalley, but i managed to keep my ratio above 80% and want to finish all my requested books this year before 2019 comes 😀

Wow well done on over 80%!! That’s a serious achievement so many of us Netgalley users wish we could reach 😀

Haha, this is so fun!
DNFing shouldn’t be a naughty thing tho.

Oooooo…on the NAUGHTY LIST! That’s okay, we all have our years. I also read manga…which helped me reach my Goodreads (or will make me reach it) goal. If this was more blogging based as well…I would’ve been in BIG trouble. I did not post as much as I would’ve liked, and the reading year was just not as great for me as 2017, both amount and content wise. Oh man…breaking the spin of someone else’s book…I don’t even like to do that with my own books!! And we both apparently don’t let our mothers borrow our books…oh well….
Great post love! A joy to read!

Thanks for introducing me to this tag, it was lots of fun to write! Here’s to hoping 2019 is a better reading year for the both of us… although I probably still won’t let my mum borrow my books 😛

Of course!! I’m hoping I will remember to do this again near the end of 2019 and do a comparison!
Oh…I probably won’t let my mom borrow mine either…he-he
