I recently went through a load of my old Netgalley Picks of the Week posts and started adding the books I liked the sound of to my TBR, so I thought this weeks ‘Friday Finds’ could be Netgalley themed!
All the below books I found through NG, and the images link through to their pages so you can read the synopses (if I included this one, the post would be waaayyy too long) and request them if you want to!
Keep reading to find some new books!
Little Darlings by Melanie Golding
This sounds like a story of changelings or something even more sinister! I can see this one being a heavy read, but if the story is done right, it will definitely pay off.
Limetown by Zack Akers, Skip Bronkie & Cote Smith
I’m big into my podcasts at the moment so knowing this is based on one made me want to read it immediately. It also sounds like a spooky, creepy story which I hope I’ll love!
Mouthful of Birds by Samantha Schweblin
I love short story collections, especially when they’re described as ‘eerie’! I love the cover and title of this book, it instantly grabbed my attention so it was a quick add to my TBR.
The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths
I’ve seen so many Griffiths books coming out recently but they’ve been part of a series so I haven’t picked any up. This one seems like a standalone, and sounds very eerie, so I think this will give me the chance to finally read the author.
The Last by Hanna Jameson
OK, so the synopsis of this one instantly made me think of a dystopian version of The Shining and then the Elisa Lam case! Totally up my street, it’s a no-brainer that I added this to my TBR.
In the Dark by Cara Hunter
This is the second in a detective series however, I’m assuming this can be read as a standalone and I love the sound of it! The reviews for it are so good too.
Dracul by Dacre Stoker and J. D. Barker
So I haven’t actually read Dracula yet but this prequel sounds amazing and I love Barket’s writing!
So there we have it. Those are my TBR additions for the past couple of weeks from Netgalley!
What books have you discovered recently? Have you read any of these?
I have an ARC of Dracul and it is going to be my next read once I finish Priest of Bones! I am super excited about it.

The cover of The Last made me think of The Shining as well! I don’t plan to read that one, but I hope you like it.
Dracul, though… that one I do want to read now! I enjoy Dracula a lot, so I’m curious to read what Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew has to say about that story.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who got Shining vibes š

Definitely not! I don’t know if that’s what they were going for with the cover design or not, though.

It could well be a selling point for the novel!

It could! So if they haven’t been advertising it that way, maybe it was accidental.

Limetown has such an interesting cover, makes me think of a loop inside a house, like PT the game that never was. Never heard of the podcast though. Dracul sounds really interesting, but at the same time it’s a little weird that the authors own grand-grand-father is a character in the book.

That cover of mouthful of birds is so cool! I just finished reading a new book called Civil Terror: Gridlock by J. Luke Bennecke. It is the first in a series of I believe 4, which is great because I loved this one! It had me sitting with my knees up to my chest with suspense! I felt like there was the possibility that something like this could happen in the near future because the threat of advanced technology is seen in our day to day lives today. I thought it had one of the best antagonists in recent memory with Viktor in my opinion. I highly recommend it! Here is the link to the author’s website in case you want more info: (http://www.jlukebennecke.com/ )
