My Favourite Reviews of the Week | 2nd September

Faves 2 Sept

Hello again bookish friends! I’m here again with my favourite reviews of the week!

Sorry this is a day late, I had a busy day yesterday and hadn’t quite finished it so I’ve finished it off today! Have a lovely Sunday!

I hope you guys enjoy the post and find a few reviews you missed from your feed this week!

The inspiration for this blog meme comes from Novels and Nonfiction’s “Links I Loved This Week” posts.

25th August

By the Letter Book Reviews reviewed The Wife Before Me by Laura Elliot – a short and snappy review that makes me really intrigued to look further into this book!

GNTxReads reviewed In Bloom by C. J. Skuse – a brilliant review for the second novel in the Sweetpea series! Be warned though, it has Sweetpea spoilers!

Chain Interaction reviewed The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness – this remains a childhood favourite of mine so I love seeing others positive reviews for it!

What Cathy Read Next reviewed The Psychology of Time Travel by Kate Mascarenhas – a very entertaining and exciting review from Cathy!

26th August

Keeper of Pages reviewed Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage – a fantastic review from Janel as always! Explains this book really well

Me and My Mundane Life reviewed The Affair by Sheryl Browne – a well written and well-presented review!

Linda’s Book Bag reviewed England’s Lane by Emma Woolf – such an eloquent review for this intense and claustrophobic sounding novel!

I Have Thoughts on Books reviewed Everything Under by Daisy Johnson – this book sounds far to complex for me to wrap my head around but if you’re looking for a stunning literary retelling, check out this review for a Man Booker nominated novel!

A Little Blog of Books reviewed Strangers Drowning by Larissa MacFarquhar – this sounds like a really interesting and rather unique non-fiction read!

27th August

Keeper of Pages reviewed The Damned by Tarn Richardson – I mean Janel is my go-to blogger for finding new books and the super, super high things she says about it make me really want to read it… but werewolves are a big turn off for me so I’M NOT SURE!!

Read, Eat, Sleep, Repeat reviewed Leave No Trace by Mindy Mejia – wonderful quick review for a book I’ve been seeing loads about lately!

Sam Anne Elizabeth reviewed Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger – this is a really detailed review for a book I’m definitely now tempted to add to my TBR!

Avalinah’s books reviewed The Spaceship Next Door by Gene Doucette – a wonderfully set out review that tells you everything you need to know before going into this novel! (Also, not sure if this was posted on this day as there are no dates… but we’ll go with it!)

28th August

Snazzy Books reviewed All the Hidden Truths by Claire Askew – this is a fantastic and detailed review for a very emotional sounding book

Fuel the Blog reviewed The Missing by C. L. Taylor – in a slump? It seems like George has the perfect solution book for you!

What’s Nonfiction reviewed The Vienna Woods Killer by John Leake – these reviews are always so enticing! Another true crime novel to add to my TBR!

Emma’s Bookish Corner wrote several mini reviews – oooohhhhh I love mini-reviews! I’ve seen fab reviews for Dark Pines everywhere now, I should probably read it at some point

Here’s the Fucking Twist reviewed The Confession by Jo Spain – as always, a very funny review from Krystin!

29th August

Jennifer Tar Heel Reader reviewed The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald – a really detailed and fun review for a book I haven’t seen many other people talking about

These Novel Thoughts reviewed Don’t Look Now by Daphne du Maurier – I recently read some du Maurier shorts that I felt were a bit dud, so this review reminded me that it’s worth still exploring her stuff cause I really loved this book!

My Poor TBR reviewed The English Wife by Lauren Willig – this is a really eloquent slightly less than positive review

30th August

The Misstery reviewed Overkill by Vanda Symon – the more I’m seeing reviews for this book, the more I’m wanting to read it! Annie makes a very convincing case as to why you should pick it up

BookWyrm Reads reviewed Born a Crime by Trevor Noah – a wonderful review from Nicole for a very interesting sounding nonfiction

31st August

I Loved Reading This reviewed Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough – a fab review for a book I’m wanting to read myself!

Ayunda Bhuwana reviewed several mystery books – this is a great collection of mini-reviews for a few mystery books. I love the way the post has been set up!

Reading Under the Blankie reviewed Believe Me by J. P. Delaney – hilarious review from Norrie. I didn’t like the first book by this author so I can totally relate to this review (even though this is for his second book!)

Write Through the Night reviewed Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult – I love the easy to read set up of Joce’s reviews!

Mrs B Book Reviews reviewed The Suitcase Baby by Tanya Bretherton – this is one a non-fiction I hadn’t heard of until this review! i’m definitely going to check it out now!

So there we have it! Those are my favourite review posts from this week. Thanks to all the bloggers featured for the fantastic content this week!

And onto the next week… I’m looking forward to reading some new reviews!

    1. Hahaha not many people know about my werewolf complex. I’m not even sure why I have it tbh but ever since I can remember I haven’t got on with things with werewolves! Even when I’m listening to my Lore podcast, if the episode is about werewolves I zone out 😛
