Hello again bookish friends! I’m here again with my favourite reviews of the week.
This week has been pretty uneventful so I have nothing to whinge about at the beginning of this post… hm, what do I say? I hope you’ve all had a lovely week!!
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the post and find a few reviews you missed from your feed this week!
The inspiration for this blog meme comes from Novels and Nonfiction’s “Links I Loved This Week” posts.
8th June
GNTxReads reviewed Guilt by Amanda Robson – a big 5 stars from Gaby for this new & highly talked about psychological thriller! This is why reviews are so important, I thought the cover made the book look a little “women’s fiction”-y but apparently this novel has rather dark and shocking themes throughout!
9th June
Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles reviewed Remember Me by Lynda Renham – Meggy’s review here is very exciting and really entices you to pick up the book!
Snazzy Books reviewed The Brighton Mermaid by Dorothy Koomson – this is a really punchy, quick review that definitely sells the book well!
10th June
Jo’s Book Loge reviewed A Skinful of Shadows by Frances Hardinge – such a beautiful review for an amazing sound fanstastical YA novel!
Kristin Kraves Books reviewed several novels – really fun post with 3 mini-reviews that are super informative!
The Opinionated Reader reviewed Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood – whoa, this is such a passionate and knowledgable review! Well worth a read even if you’re not into Atwood’s books!
11th June
From First Page to Last reviewed The Birds and Other Stories by Daphne Du Maurier – I cant wait to read this novel myself, so this review gets me very excited to pick it up!
Spotlight on Stories reviewed The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – a fantastic review for a highly talked about novel!
Bookwyrm Reads reviewed A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking – interesting review – it’s nice to know that it’s probably going to be one of those books where there are parts you won’t understand
Books Bejeweled reviewed Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent – this is a really positive review and makes me so excited to pick up the book myself (I have it on my shelves, I’ll get round to it soon)
Blood Red Velvet reviewed Triptych by Karin Slaughter – Shuford’s book reviews are always such a pleasure to read! They’re so beautifully weaved, I reckon half the time they’re more enjoyable than the actual book
Mrs Reads Books reviewed Baby Teeth by Soje Stage – a great, honest review for the hottest book of the moment!
12th June
Ola Reads Books reviewed Notes of a Scandal by Zoe Heller – this sounds like a really interesting read and the review is very compelling!
13th June
A Word is Power reviewed Educated by Tara Westover – I’ve seen reviews for this novel a couple of times now and this review has convinced me to add it to my TBR!
14th June
Uncovered Books reviewed The Glass Universe by Dava Sobel – this is a really interesting, well-balanced review for a pretty unique sounding nonfiction!
Books, Vertigo and Tea reviewed Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris – as always, this is a very well thought out review from Danielle and explains the pros and cons well
15th June
What’s Nonfiction reviewed The Aquariums of Pyongyang by Kang Chol-Hwan, and Pierre Rigoulot – if you’re interested in reading North Korea defector novels, What’s Nonfiction has a recommendation for you here!
Keeper of Pages reviewed The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – I’m not always that interested in WWII novels, but this one sounds really interesting thanks to Janel’s review
Divine World of Books reviewed The Captives by Debra Jo Immergut – I felt exactly the same way about this book as Beth did. This could literally be my review
A Word is Power reviewed Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn – a very enticing review for this book I’ve been wanting to read for a while now
What Cathy Read Next reviewed The Poison Bed by E. C. Fremantle – this is a fantastic review for a gorgeously covered book!
So there we have it! Those are my favourite review posts from this week. Thanks to all the bloggers featured for the fantastic content this week!
And onto the next week… I’m looking forward to reading some new reviews!
Thanks for including my review of The Poison Bed amongst so many other great links.
