It’s a new month, so it’s a new theme! I’m sure some of you have already seen this theme on the Goodreads group, but it’s always good to check all the boxes and post it on the blog too!
As always, thank you to everyone who’s been joining in each month! I hope it’s helping you tackle your TBR like it is for me!
… Also, just to remind you all that I’ve posted the May book reviews here, so if you read and reviewed a book for the club last month, you should find your post featured there!
THE THEME FOR MAY IS:
MOVIE NIGHT
Read a book that was adapted into a movie!
A pretty easy theme this month. I’d love to know if you’ve seen the movie of the book you’re going to read and whether you liked it!
~
WHAT I’LL BE READING:
The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin
I’ve been meaning to read another Ira Levin book since loving Rosemary’s Baby last year. I won a giveaway hosted by Inside My Library Mind and bought The Stepford Wives as part of my prize! I can’t wait to get into it. It’s only a little book, so it shouldn’t take me long, especially if I love it as much as I loved Rosemary’s Baby!
I haven’t actually seen the movie adaptation of The Stepford Wives. I went to watch it (illegally) once but the site didn’t work so I gave up. I’m glad of this now as I prefer reading the book before seeing the movie!
(I’ve already read my book for this month! I might try & read another movie adapted novel as I have the time!)
I hope you all like the theme for June! Let me know what book you’ll be reading this month, and whether you’ve seen the movie version of your book!
Don’t forget, you can find The BookBum Community on Goodreads too! You can join it here. I will be posting all this over on the GR threads too.
I haven’t seen the movie version either and always wanted to read the book. I read another book by the author, not sure about the title… Something with kiss. I just remembered it was really good.

I am excited to read your thoughts on this, but I think I have already mentioned that 😉 It has been so long I hardly remember the film but know I enjoyed it, I think.

I watched The Stepford Wives movie when it came out years ago. I don’t remember if I liked it though. I had the book on my TBR but I removed it. I just went to a panel at Bookcon where Chuck Palahniuk brought up Ira Levin. I had no idea he wrote both Rosemary’s Baby and The Stepford Wives. I really want to read both now.

Ira Levin didn’t write much but most of his books were well received! I really want to read A Kiss Before Dying and The Boys from Brazil by him also 😀

Oh wow I haven’t heard of his other two books. I am excited to read his books now.

I re-read The Lightning Thief for this theme (not sure if re-reads are allowed? But I’ve never reviewed it before! 😝) My review is fixing to go up in just a few… ☺️

I read The adventures of Huckleberry Finn this month, that got made into a film by Elijah Wood. Brilliant book, not seen the movie though.
