Oops! I very almost forgot to make this post this month – life has been so busy! Sorry this is coming a week into the month, but better late than never, ey?
I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in The BookBum Club, either from day 1 or just last month. It’s been lovely seeing so many people support this idea and I’m glad it’s helping me you tackle your TBR!
… Also, just to remind you all that I’ve posted the April book reviews here, so if you read and reviewed a book for the club last month, you should find your post featured there!
THE THEME FOR MAY IS:
AROUND THE WORLD
Read a book by an author who’s from a different country
I read so many books by English or American authors that I thought it was time for a change! Invisible points go out to people reading from authors of smaller, more “obscure” countries.
~
WHAT I’LL BE READING:
Kin by Snorri Kristjansson
I was given this book courtesy of Bookbridgr so I really need to get round to reading it anyway, but it just so happens the author is from Iceland! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book from an Icelandic author, so it will be interesting to see if there’s a certain writing style in this that feels different to what I’m used to reading.
(I’ve since found out that Kristjansson now lives in the UK, but it still counts!!)
I hope you all like the theme for May! Let me know what book you’ll be reading this month, and which country the author is from!
Don’t forget, you can find The BookBum Community on Goodreads too! You can join it here. I will be posting all this over on the GR threads too.
I’m reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak who is from Australia. I started it last month but I didn’t get very far into it so it worked out perfectly lol.

It’s a great theme! I’m reading Ann Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl this month, and since I’m from the US and she’s from Germany that will fit the theme nicely.
