My Favourite Reviews of the Week | 27th April

Faves 27Apr

Hello again bookish friends! I’m here again with my favourite reviews of the week.

Happy Friyay! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day! I’m going to a friends gig this evening, so I’m looking forward to that. Anyway that’s not important… onto the reviews!

I hope you guys enjoy the post and find a few reviews you missed on your feed this week!

Inspiration for this blog meme comes from Novels and Nonfiction’s “Links I Loved This Week” posts.

21st April

The Book Thief Without Words reviewed Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mendel – I loved this really in-depth review! I’ve been meaning to pick up this book since I put it down a few years ago, so this has reminded me to get it on my TBR pile quick!

Novel Gossip reviewed The Favourite Sister by Jessica Knoll – this sounds like the perfect holiday read recommendation! Enthusiastic review!

22nd April

It’s All About Books reviewed Find You in the Dark by Nathan Ripley – I’d never heard of this book before this review. It sounds like an interesting and unique book!

Fuel the Blog reviewed The Chalk Man by C. J. Tudor – even though I didn’t love this book myself, it’s always fun to see bookish friends enjoy books you weren’t too keen on. What makes this even greater is the fact that the very copy George read passed through my hands at one point!

Keeper of Pages reviewed The Fireman by Joe Hill – I know Janel doesn’t give out 5 stars lightly, so this well written and excited reaview really makes me want to pick this book up… now!

23rd April

Keeper of Pages reviewed The Cremator by Ladislav Fuks – this was a BookBum Club pick, which always makes me love a review, but not only that, the book sounds great. I love weird horrors!

My Chestnut Reading Tree reviewed A Woman Scorned by Jack Jordan – this is a very enthusiastic and exciting review! Having previously read a book by this author, it’s nice to know he has a new novel out.

Pace Amore Libri reviewed Sight by Jessie Greengrass – this is an incredibly well written review that captures your attention, even if you’re not interested in reading the book (like me!)

24th April

Dear Reader reviewed The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamariya – I’ve seen a couple of reviews for this book now, and each one is making me really get me interested in it!

Emma’s Bookish Corner reviewed Twelve Mile Straight by Eleanor Henderson – fantastic review of what sounds like a really rewarding book

Emma’s Bookish Corner reviewed Darling by Rachel Edwards – ignored book before but this review has me intrigued

25th April

I Loved Reading This reviewed The Vegetarian by Han Kang – this is a really insightful review. It’s interesting to hear that other readers will probably take different things from this book when they read it. (Kerrie is also sending me the book!! Which is super lovely and I’m so excited!)

Books Vertigo and Tea reviewed Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman – I really love the set up for the reviews on this blog! They’re so easy to read. This review is getting me really excited to read this book!

What’s Nonfiction reviewed A Beneath a Ruthless Sun by Gilbert King – this such a detailed review, added the book to my TBR! This blog is the place to go for nonfiction / true crime recommendations!

Wrecked My Eyes Reading reviewed The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter – this was a great snappy review! It definitely makes me want to pick up this short story collection.

26th April

Books Vertigo and Tea reviewed The Hike by Drew Magary – another fantastic review. This book sounds so kooky, which is right up my street!

GNTxReads reviewed Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult – a short but interesting review for this controversial novel!

Lavendar Books reviewed The Puppet Master by Abigail Osborne – I love a good honest negative review like this! They’re fun to read.

For Winter Nights reviewed The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton – I’ve seen a number of good reviews for this so far. Sounds like a great read! I’ll definitely have to check out Sharon Bolton’s work.

Espresso Coco reviewed Everything About You by Heather Child – I love a good snappy review. This book sounds like a fantastic new creepy read.

Keeper of Pages reviewed Penance by Kanae Minato – I’ve had my eye on this book for a while. Janel says it’s great… so of course I want to read it!

27th April

Keeper of Pages reviewed The Adversary by Emmanuel Carrere – OK, I realise I’ve featured Janel a million times in this post already, but I loved this book personally, so it was a lot of fun seeing a bookish friend enjoying it!

Travelling Through Words reviewed Demons in My Mind by Aashish Gupta – this sounds like a very unique, interesting read! Criminal monks!

So there we have it! Those are my favourite review posts from this week. Thanks to all the bloggers featured for the fantastic content this week!

And onto the next week… I’m looking forward to reading some new reviews!
