I’m a terrible person. Ryann the Reader created this fun new blogger award post back for her 6 month blogiversary (in July), and I was lucky enough to be tagged!
I love blogger award tags as they’re about the person behind the blog rather than the books on the blog. It’s nice to get to know a blogger that little bit more than what’s on their ‘about’ page.
So if you want to find out a little bit more about me, keep on reading!
The Rules:
- Share the link of the blogger who nominated you, and link back to their blog
- Answer the award questions and the question from the person who nominated you
- Nominate up to five bloggers who’ve inspired you in your blogging journey
- Add a question to the five award questions for your nominees to answer
~
The Questions:
What’s the main focus of your blog, and why did you start blogging?
I focus mainly on books on my blog, but I do like to dip into other genres every once in a while, like movie reviews or beauty!
I started my blog as a hobby. I was reading a lot but then not getting my feelings down, which felt like wasted energy. I started by reviewing books on Amazon, moving on to Goodreads a little while after and then biting the bullet and creating this blog! That was a big step for me because it meant commitment to reading and reviewing, but here I am, 1 year and 4 months later, still going!
What’s your favorite social media platform beyond your blog?
I really enjoy using Twitter for all the memes and being able to share other bloggers content, but Instagram is probably my favourite. I don’t put a lot of effort into my IG account, but I love viewing others that do!
What’s your favorite thing about your blog?
Probably the fact that’s it’s all mine to do with as I please. I like that I get to use it freely and don’t have to follow anyone else’s rules.
What’s the best thing about blogging so far?
Definitely meeting all the other book-nerds like me! I’ve made a ton of great bookish friends (too many to name!) who are so easy to chat to and share book feelings with.
If you had to give one piece of advice to new bloggers, what would it be?
Interact with other bloggers! Not only do you make great online friends, you also get your name out there and gather followers that way really quickly! You don’t need to go overboard and comment and like everything other bloggers do, be genuine with your interactions, but make sure you make the effort and people will make it back with you!
(Ryann’s question) – What was your childhood dream job?
I always wanted to own a sweet shop when I was younger, which changed to wanting to own a bookshop. In terms of an actual career, I at first wanted to be a doctor, and then I wanted to be an archaeologist (but I would never have the patience for that!)
Yay, so that’s that! Thanks again to Ryann for creating and tagging me in this blogger award post!
I’m going to tag…
The Travelling Inkwell // Stephanie’s Novel Fiction // The Belgian Reviewer
My added question for you is: What’s your favourite movie?
No pressure to do the tag if you’re not feeling it!
I love this 🙂
Totally right about just getting out there and interacting when you start out.
