March 2018 wrap-up

Books I’ve read this month

I thought that March was going to be a complete write off. It got to the 15th and I still hadn’t read anything, I was part way through my book but I just had no interest to read it. Luckily, I got back into the swing of things and managed to get myself reading again!

Books read: 5
Pages read: 1,458

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay

Books I’ve DNF’d this month

None this month! Woohoo!

Favourite book of the month

I did enjoy Sweet Little Lies but without a doubt, A Head Full of Ghosts was my favourite book this month. I really enjoyed it even though it wasn’t as scary as I’d hoped. The writing was great, the characters were so life-like and the twist at the end was super eerie too!

The BookBum Club

The BookBum Club (1)

For the month of April The BookBum Club theme is Short and Sweet!

Read a book that’s under 200 pages!

This theme is pretty self explanatory and should be super easy for everyone! You may even be able to get in a couple of short books over the month.

I’ll be reading:

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

(I’ve already finished it! Lol) I’ve been meaning to read this book for ages! At only 75 pages, this is a super easy pick for me this month, especially as I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump!

Join the club and tell me what you’ll be reading in April, here!

Book goal update

goalmarUgh, still behind!

This doesn’t surprise me, I’ve been totally slacking recently due to a bit of a slump. It’s kind of sad seeing only 11 books as I used to be such a speedy, busy reader! Long hours and no public transport have really slowed my reading down. I’m still relying on my 2 week holiday to get me ahead of schedule!

Here are the pics I posted on IG this month!

Back again with some more music! This month I haven’t really found any one album I like, it’s just a lot of singles!

First up is No Looking Back by Crash Kings – I found this song by watching the move The Iceman (another of my Michael Shannon escapades) and this was the song for the credits. Unfortunately, it’s not on Spotify! Argh!

I also found a few new singles from Kimbra. I’ve liked Kimbra since she was in Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye.

One of her new singles Version of Me came up on a playlist on Spotify and I loved it straight away! It has some really eerie strings in the background!

I also discovered my love for the song Mine by Bazzi. I’ve heard it in memes for months and months, but I only really listened to it the other day. It’s cute and funky.

Personal update

I went to Berlin! I spent a long weekend in Berlin, exploring the city and seeing the sights. I had such an amazing time, it’s definitely my favourite city I’ve visited so far! I’ll let the images do the talking…

It’s been a boozy month…

I went out for a ‘girls night’ with some pals from work, it was a fun night! 2 for 1 cocktails started the evening off… we got very drunk. There are some very unflattering pictures of the post-night-out McDonald’s stop off… but I won’t post those!

During the week my friends also invited us out on the Saturday evening, so I went out for two days on the trot. I was aiming for a calmer night, but that didn’t happen and I got nice and merry on St Patrick’s Day too. It turned into a very boozy weekend.

And then yesterday, I went out again! so. Much. Alcohol. Consumed.

For my step-sisters 21st birthday (in January), I got her tickets to see Flight on the Conchords. We finally got to go see them this month and it was suuuch a funny night! I haven’t laughed like that in ages. Well worth the money and a great birthday present (if I do say so myself)!

I also went to go see my dads new flat this past weekend. He recently moved with his fiancee  and a couple of her children into a new place, so me & Matt made the trip to London so go see them. It was so nice to catch up, and their place is really lovely!

On Bank Holiday Friday, me and Matt decided to take a lil day trip to Straftord-upon-Avon. We went and saw Shakespeare’s house (obviously) and had some really tasty dinner at a cute pub/hotel.

That’s a wrap

Whew, that’s all for this month! March started badly but ended up a successful month!

Happy Easter everyone ❤️

I hope you had a nice March! What were some of your highlights of this month?

  1. I am having a ridiculous month for reading too! I haven’t had the time/nor have I wanted to read! I guess we all need to take a step back every once and a while! I was failing so hard at my Goodreads challenge, I ended up shutting it off LOL
There is always April I guess!!

    1. I’m back on track now, but I did go through a spell of 2 weeks where I really couldn’t think of anything worse than picking up my book! It’s so weird how that happens – hopefully you get out of your slump soon! Lol about your Goodreads challenge!
