Books I’ve read this month
I read 3 books this month, a pretty poor showing! But I also DNF’d 2 books too.
3 stars
The Dumb House by John Burnside (off my TBR)
4 stars
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult (off my TBR)
The Good People by Hannah Kent

The Woman in the Wood by Lesley Pearse

Favourite book of the month
Not really much to pick from this month! While I loved Small Great Things because of the discussion group I was in for it, I preferred the actual story to The Good People. I have such a soft spot for historical fiction!

The BookBum Club
For the month of March The BookBum Club theme is And the Award Goes To!
I’m reading A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay. I’ve had this novel on my TBR and bookshelves for absolutely ages! I love a good horror novel and since it won the Bram Stoker award back in 2015, it’s the perfect novel to pick up for this theme!
Join the club and tell me what you’ll be reading in March, here!

Book goal update
Already behind on this years goal! Oops!
What I keep thinking is that I have a 2 week holiday of pure laziness and lounging about coming up in July and I’m sure I’ll do a hell of a lot of reading while on that, so I’ll catch up on all my books at that point!
I’m not worried just yet!

Here are the pics I posted on IG this month!

Music
So I did a little music section in January’s wrap-up, and I thought it might be nice to try and include new music I’ve found each month!
So for February, I discovered Børns’ album Blue Madonna. I liked his previous album and I’d seen he’d come out with new stuff but I only just got round to listening to it this month! It’s like dreamy, chilled-out electropop.
Here’s the album link for Spotify. My personal fave at the moment is Sweet Dreams.
I also love God Save Our Young Blood ft. Lana Del Rey!
I’m also a big fan of Post Malone, and his new song Psycho came out just the other day! You either love or hate Posty, but I think he’s a cool dude and that in turn makes me like his music!

Personal update
Firstly, I went out with a few of the girls at work for dinner and a cocktail. It’s been so nice making actual friends at work, and not just having “work-friends”. We’ve tried to hang out a day every week this month, it’s been so nice! We did pancake day together, and tonight we;re having a fajita night!
I also went out for lunch with my besties for a catch up since we hadn’t seen them since New Years! We’re going away with them to Berlin next weekend, so that’s going to be amazing! Lots of pics to come in March’s wrap-up!
Then, of course, the 14th was Valentine’s day! Me & Matt don’t celebrate the day really, but we do get each other cards (mainly because I love buying and receiving cards!!)
It was also my dads birthday this month. I wasn’t able to see him on the actual day (the 10th) because his car broke down, never to come back to life, so he couldn’t drive up to see me after work, and he was in the process of moving and decorating, so I didn’t go up to see him because I didn’t want to get in the way! So, only just yesterday, I finally got the chance to see him. We went out for a nice dinner together, my treat, and we caught up on everything.
I also went to see two films in the cinema this month, which is a pretty big thing for me, because I rarely go! I went to see Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri and The Shape of Water. Both were absolutely fantastic! It helps that both feature two of my favourite actors, Sam Rockwell and Michael Shannon! I think I’m a little bit in love with both of them lol.
That’s a wrap
Whew, another lost wrap up this month! February went past in the blink of an eye but I managed to squeeze a lot in!
I hope you had a nice February! What were some of your highlights of this month?
Looks like a great month all round! I see you got approved for The Feather Thief, can’t wait to see what you think of it and The Beautiful Dead, I loved that one!

Nice! 🙂 I really liked your review of The Good People, so I might pick it up soon. I read Burial Rites by the same author and I loved it, I hope this one is as good.

That’s so nice you’re making legit friends at work! I literally just made one last month too and we went to a grand opening of a coffee shop near the property we work at so it’s been great. I’m actually planning on getting a couple tattoos this month and she’s going to join me. Pretty pumped about it! 😀
I definitely love that otter card. I think this is the first year the manfriend and I didn’t exchange cards?? Oops! But we did go out to dinner so I guess that’s fine too…

Have fun getting your tattoos 😀
