SynopsisOne winter evening just before Christmas, Stockholm is plunged into a sudden, citywide blackout. Radio, internet, phone service—all cut out simultaneously, cloaking the city in darkness and silence.

On the pitch-black streets, a young woman carries a message for her estranged father. It may be the key to reversing the blackout and preventing further attacks. But someone powerful is determined to stop her from delivering it…

In an eerily quiet newsroom, journalist Christina Sandberg tries to piece together what’s happening. She has a terrible feeling that, somehow, her ex-husband William is involved…

Codebreaker and cyber-security expert William Sandberg received an anonymous email, immediately before the blackout, with very specific directions to be followed. His erstwhile colleagues in the state military police are very aware of this correspondence. Sandberg is taken into custody-just when he most needs to be in action to clear his name, find his daughter, and save the country from disaster.

Title: Twist of Faith

AuthorEllen J. Green

Ava is certain that it’s a clue to her elusive past. Twenty-three years ago, she’d been found wrapped in a yellow blanket in the narthex of the Holy Saviour Catholic Church—and rescued—or so she’d been told. Her mother claimed there was no more to the story, so the questions of her abandonment were left unanswered. For Ava, now is the time to find the roots of her mother’s lies. It begins with the house itself—once the scene of a brutal double murder.

When Ava enlists the help of the two people closest to her, a police detective and her best friend, she fears that investigating her past could be a fatal mistake. Someone is following them there. And what’s been buried in Ava’s nightmares isn’t just a crime. It’s a holy conspiracy.

Clare has to find them.

Sally Proulx and her young boy have mysteriously disappeared in the stormy town of High River. Clare is hired to track them down, hoping against all odds to find them alive. But High River isn’t your typical town. It’s a place where women run to—women who want to escape their past. They run to Helen Haines, a matriarch who offers them safe haven and anonymity. Pretending to be Sally’s long-lost friend, Clare turns up and starts asking questions, but nothing prepares her for the swirl of deception and the depth of the lies.

Did Sally drown? Did her son? Was it an accident, or is their disappearance part of something bigger?

In a town where secrets are crucial to survival, everyone is hiding something. Detectives Somers and Rourke clearly have an ulterior motive beyond solving the case. Malcolm Boon, who hired Clare, knows more about her than he reveals. And Helen is concealing a tragic family history of her own. Instead, she does her best to keep up appearances, even as months pass and she can barely put food on the table—much less replace a light bulb. While she looks for a job, she lives in fear that someone will see her stuffing toilet paper into her handbag or pinching basil from a neighbor’s window box.

Soon, blindsided by catastrophe, surprised by romance, and stunned by the kindness of a stranger, Tabitha realizes she can’t keep her secrets forever. Sooner or later, someone is bound to figure out that her life is far from perfect.

That’s it for this week everyone! Not a hugely vast selection of novels this week, but still a bunch of interesting sounding books!

Have you requested any of these books, or now plan to? I’d love to hear your thoughts

  1. Tips for Living reminds me a lot of the types of novel Jodi Picoult writes. Also Acts of Vanishing looks very interesting! And I’m definitely requesting for Twist of Faith, added to the lovely cover the premise looks like something up my alley.

  2. Ooh, I love this idea for a post! I typically try to only post about books once they’re published, so that everyone can read them, but it does mean I don’t typically share about books while it’s still possible for bloggers to get review copies. A post like this, sharing books that are currently available on netgalley, is really helpful.
