Hi everyone, we’re a month into 2018, finally! It feels like January has just draaagged along – or is that just me? I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the new theme!
I’m not a Valentine’s kinda girl so I didn’t want this theme to be predictable and romance based… therefore it isn’t!
… but before that, just to remind you all, the January review post will be up a few days after Feb starts so I can make sure I’ve got the link to everyone’s reviews…
Anyway, new theme!
THE THEME FOR JANUARY IS:
BEAUTIFUL BOOK COVERS
Simply choose a book with an absolutely gorgeous front cover! This is all down to opinion at the end of the day… so take your pick!
WHAT I’LL BE READING:
The Good People by Hannah Kent
I recently bought myself this book after seeing it was only £3 on Amazon. I think the cover for this on is absolutely stunning! The way the coppery leaf design is also a face is really clever, and the contrast in colours is amazing.
I’ve been wanting to read this novel for a while now, and not just because of the incredible cover, so I hope I enjoy it. I’ve heard so many good things and I do love a historical fiction so I’m sure I’ll love it!
I hope you all like the theme for February! What will you be reading?
Don’t forget, you can find The BookBum Community on Goodreads too! You can join it here. I will be posting all this over on the GR threads too.
Great theme and thanks for the reminder to put my review link up.

Such an amazing theme, I wish I could join but I’m already taking part in Femmeuary! Hopefully, I’ll be able to take part in March’s theme! 😍

You could always read a beautiful book covered book by a female author ☺️

Great theme! I’ve got the perfect book that I was already planning to read anyway. And my review for the January theme is up on the Goodreads group 🙂

I’m so glad you didn’t go with a romance book cos I’d have to sit next month out 😂 I had some issues with Jan’s theme – i read Sometimes I Lie, didn’t like it so didn’t review it. So I picked A Head full of Ghosts – didn’t like that one either. So I’ve read two new to me authors and have no review! 😂🤣

Bleh to a romance book! Lol
Ahh no! I have A Head Full of Ghosts to read soon, how come you didn’t like it?

I just didn’t see the point of it, it wasn’t scary, creepy, thrilling, nothing. It started off with such promise and then just went downhill. I’ve written a lil paragraph on GRs saying why it didn’t work for me. But it’s one that seemed to be loved by many so maybe I missed the point 🤔 but for me, it was so bad, I’m hesitant to read his other books! 🙈

Oooh, this should be an easy theme for me! I often shop for books based on the covers… 😉

I thought this one would be easy but when looking through my shelves it’s decidedly a lot harder than I anticipated 🙂
