November 2017 wrap-up

Books I’ve read this month

I’ve had a really shitty reading month! I’ve not felt motivated to pick up a book for most of it, so I’ve read very little! (I was naughty and read my December BookBum Club book this month too…)

3 stars
In a Cottage In a Wood by Cass Green
Mary Rose by Geoffrey Girard
I’m Travelling Alone by Samuel Bjork

4 stars
The Mistletoe Murder and Other Stories by P. D. James

Favourite book of the month

I shouldn’t have even read this book this month but I couldn’t help myself!! It was so good too, I’m glad I decided to read it because I had a pretty mediocre reading month otherwise.

Book goal update

goalll Technically only 6 books behind because I haven’t added The Mistletoe Murder to my GR shelf yet, but still, that’s baaaddd!

Oh well, I’ll get over my crappiness one day. Next year I’ll make sure to make my goal super tiny in comparison lol.

Personal update

It was my 21st birthday this month!! I got lots of lovely gifts from family and friends, including a Google Pixel tablet, a new LED lamp for my gel nails, a custom bookmark and paper stamper, books and much more! I was totally spoiled this year, I really apreciate all my gifts. My work team even decorated my desk with lots of “happy birthday” banners, a balloon, and they all got me a few gifts too.

We went out for a big meal for my bday too. My family are split and each parent has another partner so we all came together for the evening which really meant a lot! Unfortunately, my nan had hurt her back and couldn’t come with us so I went up to visit her instead.

I also went out on the lash with friends the weekend after my actual birthday. I invited a couple of people who we hadn’t seen for a while and it turned out to be a really fantastic night! I got suitably drunk, but not so much that I can’t remember what happened lol. We have another night out with the same people planned for the 29th December, I’m really looking forward to it!

Other than that, I’ve not had a lot going on this month! It’s the run-up to Christmas so I’m spending all my money on family and friends’ gifts which means there’s not a lot left for myself to go out with!

Our work Christmas party is coming up on the 15th, which I’m very excited for. I’ve bought a new fancy dress and the most amazing gold boots… see below!

  1. Those are some very gold boots! 🙂 I’m glad your birthday month was a good one, even if you didn’t read as much as you’d intended to! Sounds like you had a lot of fun instead.
