October 2017 wrap-up

Books I’ve read this month

I’ve read another 6 books this month! Seems like 6 is my average number at the moment but I’m fine with that… I’ve come to terms with it.

2 stars
Heather the Totality by Matthew Weiner
The Dying Game
by Asa Avdic

3 stars
The Innocent Wife by Amy Lloyd

4 stars
The Blind by A. F. Brady
The Book of Mirrors by E. O. Chirovici
The Dry by Jane Harper

Favourite book of the month

I went into this book not expecting to love it but I really enjoyed it in the end! I did like my other 4 star reads, of course, but I had fonder feelings for this one.

Book goal update

reading goalย Agh, 2 books behind schedule! Nightmare. I’m definitely going to lower my challenge next year. After starting this new job and driving I have so much less time to read!

I’m still happy with 72 books this year so far though, plus a million short stories I’ve read!

Personal update

I haven’t done an awful lot this month. Christmas is hastily approaching andย I have a lot of people to buy for (not complaining, I love buying people presents!) but it means I’ve got to save save save!

Me and Matt did, however, decide it was time we organised “date nights” every month. So we started it this month – we went to see The Snowman which was good but not great, and then we went for a meal out.

We’ve also just made an appointment with the bank to set up our Help to Buy ISA’s, moving in together is finally on the horizon! I’m so excited!

I also went out for Halloween on the 28th and got royally drunk, embarrassingly so, so we’ll skip past that bit of the month…

That’s a wrap

That’s all for this month ladies and gents! Thanks for stopping by.

I hope your October was lovely and that your November is even better!

  1. Paperbacks from Hell!!!!!! I have never wanted a book so much before! I’d even give the new Dan Brown a miss to get my paws on this! Oh sod it, I’ll just get both. As a gift. To me, love me. (I’d have to get my other half the new Brandon Sanderson at the same time so I don’t feel selfish and greedy!) This is turning into an expensive comment ๐Ÿ˜‚ Books, books, give me ALL THE BOOKS ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ….and relax ๐Ÿ˜

      1. I feel the same way, but since I track them in Goodreads I met my goal early on this year. I had to keep raising the goal until I felt like I might not be cheating due to the short stories. ๐Ÿ™‚
