Hello everyone! Here is my latest fortnightly Friday Finds post. As it’s Halloween month, a lot of dark / horror novels have been popping up so it’s a horror themed post!
Anyway, let’s get on to the books I’ve found and added to my TBR shelf this past couple of weeks!
Synopsis: An obsessive young woman has been waiting half her life—since she was twelve years old—for this moment. She has planned. Researched. Trained. Imagined every scenario. Now she is almost certain the man who kidnapped and murdered her sister sits in the passenger seat beside her.
Carl Louis Feldman is a documentary photographer. The young woman claims to be his long-lost daughter. He doesn’t believe her. He claims no memory of murdering girls across Texas, in a string of places where he shot eerie pictures. She doesn’t believe him.
Determined to find the truth, she lures him out of a halfway house and proposes a dangerous idea: a ten-day road trip, just the two of them, to examine cold cases linked to his haunting photographs.
Is he a liar or a broken old man? Is he a pathological con artist? Or is she?
This was a Netgalley find from this week. You can only currently wish for it, which I have done, and I really, really want to have it granted. This sounds like such a tense, twisty thriller-mystery. I can’t wait to get my hands on it… however that may be.
Synopsis: Can any soul survive?
Regarded as the Mount Everest of haunted houses, Belasco House has witnessed scenes of almost unimaginable horror and depravity. Two previous expeditions to investigate its secrets met with disaster, the participants destroyed by murder, suicide or insanity. Now a new investigation has been mounted – four strangers, each with his or her own reason for daring the unknown torments and temptations of the mansion…
I’m not sure how I’ve gone on for so long without knowing of this horror novel! It’s super popular and really well rated. I’m looking forward to reading this spooky story at some point.
Synopsis: At the end of a dark prairie road, nearly forgotten in the Kansas countryside, lies the Finch House. For years it has perched empty, abandoned, and overgrown–but soon the door will be opened for the first time in many decades. But something waits, lurking in the shadows, anxious to meet its new guests.
When best-selling horror author Sam McGarver is invited to spend Halloween night in one of the country’s most infamous haunted houses, he reluctantly agrees. At least he won’t be alone; joining him are three other masters of the macabre, writers who have helped shape modern horror. But what begins as a simple publicity stunt soon becomes a fight for survival–the entity they have awakened will follow them, torment them, threatening to make them part of the bloody legacy of Kill Creek.
Oh how I love a creepy house horror read! This is a new book that’s coming out on Halloween that I managed to bag on Netgalley. I’m looking forward to snuggling down with this spooky story, I hope it’s good!
Synopsis: Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly erotic, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force–a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses.
I’m going to shock you all now and tell you I haven’t watched the movie adaptation of this, plus, I didn’t know it was a book until this week! I’ve heard so many good things about the movie so I definitely want to read the book too.
So there you have it, those are the books I’ve added to my TBR this past two weeks!
Let me know what books you’ve discovered recently!
