I’ve not been very active on Goodreads this week but I have still added a few of books to my TBR.
Synopsis: When a battered suitcase containing the dismembered body of a young man washes up on the shore of the river Thames, Detective Erika Foster is shocked. She’s worked on some terrifying cases but never seen anything like this before.
As Erika and her team set to work, she makes the link with another victim – the body of a young woman dumped in an identical suitcase two weeks ago.
Erika quickly realises she’s on the trail of a serial killer who’s already made their next move. Yet just as Erika starts to make headway with the investigation, she is the victim of a brutal attack.
But nothing will stop Erika. As the body count rises, the twin daughters of her colleague Commander Marsh are abducted, and the stakes are higher than ever before. Can Erika save the lives of two innocent children before it’s too late? She’s running out of time and about to make a disturbing discovery…there’s more than one killer.
Yep! A new Erika Foster novel! This is the only series I’ve ever kept up with so I’m looking forward to this one, book number 5! I was slightly disappointed by book number 4, but hopefully this one will regain my faith in the series.
Synopsis: A strange encounter
Neve comes across a troubled woman called Isabelle on Waterloo Bridge late one night. Isabelle forces a parcel into Neve’s hands and jumps to her death in the icy Thames below.
An unexpected gift
Two weeks later, as Neve’s wreck of a life in London collapses, an unexpected lifeline falls into her lap – a charming cottage in Cornwall left to her by Isabelle, the woman on the bridge. The solution to all her problems.
A twisted secret
But when Neve arrives, alone in the dark woods late one night, she finds a sinister-looking bungalow with bars across its windows. And her dream home quickly becomes her worst nightmare – a house hiding a twisted secret that will change her life forever…
I received this one as an ARC this week, which is very exciting! I can’t even remember how I found this one as it only have 1 rating on Goodreads so far, with no reviews, but it sounds very mysterious!
Synopsis: Chalk Man is coming . . .
Looking back, it all started on the day of the fair and the terrible accident. When twelve-year-old Eddie first met the Chalk Man. It was the Chalk Man who gave Eddie the idea for the drawings: a way to leave secret messages between his group of friends. And it was fun, to start with, until the figures led them to the body of a young girl. That was thirty years ago and Ed thought the past was behind him. Then he receives a letter containing just two things: a piece of chalk, and a drawing of a stick figure. As history begins to repeat itself, Ed realises the game was never over . . .
Everyone has secrets. Everyone is guilty of something. And children are not always so innocent.
I hate the cover for this one, I mean how tacky? But it sounds creepy as heck and I’m auto approved for this on Netgalley!
So there you have it, those are the three books I added to my TBR this week.
Have you guys read any of these books / want to read any of these books? I’d love to hear what you think!
The Chalk Man sounds amazing, I’ll be waiting to see what you think about it!
