What Cats Do book tag

Thank you so much to Sophie @Blame It on Chocolate for tagging me in this cute cat related post! Sorry it’s taken me an age to get round to it, but better late then never, ey!

All my answers for this tag are going to be related to books I’ve read recently, jus tto try and change up my answers a bit.

Purr – as cats do this when they’re happy or relaxed, what is the book that makes you happiest or relaxed?

Ya girl doesn’t read “happy” books, but the last book that really satisfied me was The Adversary by Emmanuel Carrere because it was such a great read for me. I love true crime and this ticked all the boxes for me, 5 stars!

Sleep – what is a book that put you to sleep or was just boring?

!!!!

 You Don’t Know Me by Imran Mahmood was a super disappointing book. I had to DNF this one because I was so bored by it.

Twitch while dreaming – have you ever dreamt of a book you read?

Not recently, and not that I can remember going back a bit further, either. I dream about being in movies a lot, but not books…

Seems to play nice…until the claws are out – which book had the biggest plot twist(s)?

Between You and Me by Lisa Hall was supposed to have the biggest & bestest plot twist of all time, but I guessed it early on and the book sucked.

Cuddles – which book character would you give a hug to?

Detective Sam Porter from The Fourth Monkey by J D Barker! I won’t explain why because of spoilers.

Catnip – what’s a book that made you have warm and fuzzy feels?

Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillips isn’t supposed to make you warm and fuzzy but it brought up motherly emotions in me that I didn’t even know I had. It finally made me think I could maybe love a child lol.

Cat breeds – your favourite book(s)?

Other than The Adversary, from before, the next 5 star read for me was The White Road by Sarah Lotz… but you all knew this already.

Getting the cat – how did you find your favourite book(s)?

I found it through the wonderful site known as BookBridgr where you can request free, physical ARC’s from Hodder & Stoughton and other imprints!

The vet’s office – your least favourite  book?

Now we’re going a bit far back for this one, but other than Between You and Me, from above, the next lowest rated book is The People at Number 9 by Felicity Everett, which was sooooo boring.

Being in places they shouldn’t- least favourite cliché?

All these goddamn police detectives with dark, troubled pasts. Give me a break.

Final question: The good old cardboard box – most underrated book series?

The Binding Song by Elodie Harper came out recently and only has 8 reviews on Goodreads! I think it deserve a lot more recognition than that!

My cat, Herbs, does very few of the things on this list. We think he might have learning difficulties (can animals get those??) because he was born the wrong way round (and under our dinner table!! not that that has anything to do with his brain) and was the runt so got very little nutrients from his mumma. He’s super chilled out (we can hoover him and he doesn’t freak out) but he’s also pretty spaced out and constantly has his mouht slightly open. He’s 8 years old and I love his fishy face to bits.
