A couple of weeks ago, I was the lucky winner of Reads & Reels’ 400 follower giveaway which was such a nice surprise as I’d never won anything before! The prize for this giveaway was a £15 Amazon voucher, which, of course, I bought books with! I was lucky to find some really great bargains while browsing and managed to get 4 books with my voucher! (I paid £2 extra, over the £15).
1984 by George Orwell – £5.59
So after wanting to read this book for a long ol’ time, I finally got round to purchasing it! When I saw it, in this Penguin Modern Classics style, I knew I had to get it! I’m in love with how it’s presented – the title and author name being censored by a big black bar. From what I know of the story, it’s a perfect representation!

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley – £6.29
Brave New World is another book I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I’ve put it in my Amazon basket a million times and have always talked myself out of buying it, but not this time! I’ve decided I want to read some more modern classics as I can’t remember the last time a book really moved me. I read too many throwaway thrillers and I need something more mentally challenging!

Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult – £2.99
Yes, you read that right, I got this for £2.99, brand new!
If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that To Kill a Mockingbird is my favourite book of all time so when I read this is being called TKAMB for the 21st Century, I knew I had to get it to see how it compares. I have read one Picoult novel in the past, Nineteen Minutes, which I remember loving (though I read it years ago!) so I’m really hoping I’ll like this one too!

The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry – £2.99
Yep, that’s right, another book for just £2.99! Amazon might be a faceless company but they sure know how to treat people on a budget.
This book has been in my TBR for a while now, and since I’m so desperate for a new historical fiction to read, I thought I couldn’t pass this one up (especially not for so cheap!). I’ve heard mixed things about this… I hope I enjoy it, but even if not… look at that cover art 😍

A huge massive thank you to Reads & Reels for giving me the opportunity to win this giveaway! I’m so happy with all my purchases and I can’t wait to get my teeth into them.
Have you read any of the books? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
As part of The Well-Thumbed Reader’s Big Blogger, Little Blogger project, I’m introducing you to The Underground Bookdom, a fun blog full of YA book reviews, tags and more! Go check it out and follow!
Me pointing at the books in the pic: want want, want, want.
😂 😂 😂
Ok the Picoult one, because I’ve seen that cover around and sounds interesting! The Essex Serpent because I really want it!! And the other too I read in high school, they were a bit abridged I think but I still need to reread them… 🙂
You are right about amazon, here in spain there are also some crazy bargains but last week I was looking around in your uk site and it’s crazy the ammount of books (that I wanted) I found for less than £5!! Crazy!!!

Good taste Matxi 😉
Yes, the Amazon over here has some great deals. Would it be cheaper if you bought from the UK site and had them shipped to you?

Nope, I don’t think so, because shipping is everything…hehe But no worries I am also another bargain hunter!! 😄 😄

You’ve picked some winners! This is how I ended up with so many books on my Kindle. A lot of times the classics are much cheaper than the newer ones. If you haven’t read either the Orwell book or Brave, New World, you should find them interesting. Small Great Things is also very good. Although, these three are rather depressing…

Haha yes, I quite like heavier books though, so I’m sure I’ll like them all! ☺️

I’ve been wanting to read 1984 for so long now and just never found the right time. I might have to ask for it for Christmas.
I’ve got a hardback of the Jodi Picoult book and it’s gorgeous – the spine is rose gold!! Like you I got it because it was referred to as the TKAM of the 21st century. I hope it lives up to expectations.
