April 2017 wrap-up

So another month is up! This year seems to be totally flying by already. I haven’t had an exciting April, to be honest, but it’s been a pretty successful reading month!

Nowhere near as many books this month! I found less time to read short stories, so other than the Tor.com ones, all these are 200+ page books.

The People at Number 9 by Felicity Everett

3 stars
Based on a True Story by Delphine de Vigan
The Ridge by John Rector
The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen

38 is less than the number I was at last month, but that’s because I’ve decided to get rid of the short stories from counting towards my book goal. I removed 10 or 12 short stories from my list for this year.

I’m still doing well though, so I’m happy!

Another month where I haven’t really done an awful lot!

Obviously, there was Easter. I’m not a religious person or in a religious family, but we like to use the 4 day weekend as a time to catch up with each other and have a nice big meal that we normally wouldn’t do. I also went to my boyfriends Easter dinner, too, so there was lots and lots of food consumed that weekend!

Me and Matt finally booked our holiday for the summer! We’re going to Malta for a week, which will be nice (hopefully). I’ve never been before! We’re going in September, so it’s a long way off, but it’s nice to finally have the stress of not having it sorted, off my back!

I got some exciting news this week, that I had won the Reads & Reels giveaway! This is my first ever giveaway win so I’m super excited to spend my voucher. I’ve already decided I’m going to get a travel mug for my morning tea, and (of course) a new book!

Oh, and I SMASHED THE HELL OUT OF MY PHONE. Ugh! I went for a naughty drive to the garage up the road for some chocolate and as I got out the car, the phone dropped off my lap and smashed… serves me right for going to get chocolate when I’m trying to lose weight… Here’s the damage…

    1. Thanks so much! Yes it’s a total pain but a place near my work doors screen repairs for reasonably cheap, so one the bank holiday is over, I’ll be getting it fixed, hopefully! Have a lovely May too💟

  2. Ah, so glad you got a vacation! I’m going to New York City for the first time to attend Bookcon this summer, and I’m too excited!

Also, I haven’t been counting my reading for the year, but it seems like your numbers are close to mine, so it makes me feel less terrible about not reading too much! 😂
