This week for Top Ten Tuesday the theme was “read in one sitting”. There were several suggestions on what to do for this and I liked this one about really captivating books!
If you’re anything like me, then you will absolutely get lost in Rosemary’s Baby! This took me under 24 hours to read, only having a gap in the middle because it was late and I had work in the morning. This is my latest favourite read.
Mystery thrillers are hard to get right nowadays, but Sometimes I Lie is one of the best I’ve read in a while. It took me a while to read this just because it fell over a busy weekend so I didn’t get much time to read, but those first few days when I picked this up, I was enthralled!
So many amazing debuts on this list! The Witchfinder’s Sister was unputdownable! The subject is dark and at times the story is distressing, but it really was a great read.
I love horror novels, but they’re not the easiest things to write, Bird Box, however, was done so well and gave me the creeps throughout. A really excellent horror novel that you’re not going to want to put down!
For a book that’s based more around characters in a real life situation, pick up All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. This book tests all your ethics and morals and brings out some really raw emotions, but it’s an incredible book that I found impossible to put down once I had started it!
If you like horror novels and you haven’t read Misery yet, then do so immediately! I read this in no time at all, King’s writing is so captivating and the story is so tense you just have to keep turning the pages to see what’s going to happen next.
Another incredible debut for the list is Good Me, Bad Me. I wolfed this book down in the matter of hours. So creepy and intriguing!
If you didn’t know already, I love Dark Matter a little bit too much! This book had me hooked from page one. It’s totally not my normal kind of book, yet I couldn’t put it down and I still can’t stop talking about it!
Looking for a book that’s creepy, heart breaking and thrilling? Pick up The Girl Before! This isn’t the book of the same title that came out this year, this is a debut from 2016 that is out of the world! (For all of you interested, this is by Rena Olsen).
Last but not least is the book I attirbute to getting me back into reading over the past few years. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August is complex, emotional, funny and exciting. Quite a thick book and tackles some confusing subjects, but you will definitely find yourself immersed in this as soon as you pick it up.
All of these books listed I rated 5 stars for my reviews, so they really are some of the best and most captivating books I’ve read.
Have you read any of these yourself? What did you think about them?
Dark Matter looks great! Adding it to the list.

All of these sound great, I’ll definitely put some of them on my TBR! The only one I heard about before was Dark Matter and so many people enjoyed it that I can’t wait to buy it for myself!
