The Sims Book Tag

Lois tagged me in this tag post a heck of a long time ago, but I’ve only just got round to it… better late than never, ey? I absolutely love the Sims, even now, so this is a great tag for me! Thanks, Lois, for tagging me!

The Original Sims – best author debut

You can’t make me choose! These are the first ones that came into my head. All really bloody excellent debuts!

  • The Witchfinders Sister by Beth Underdown
  • Bird Box by Josh Malerman
  • The Girl Before by Rena Olsen
  • Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

The Grim Reaper – saddest character death (SPOILER!!!)

The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton

I was weeping like my own mum had just died when Johannes was executed! I got way too emotional over this book.

Sims Getting Stuck – a character that just got in the way

The Breakdown by B A Paris

All of them… #sorrynotsorry. The characters in this book were terrible! Badly developed, immature and boring.

Simlish – a book with amazing writing

Misery by Stephen King

I mean King always writes well, so it was just a pick of any of this stuff!

Expansion Pack – a series where the books keep on getting better

The Detective Erika Foster series by Robert Bryndza

This series is so, so good. I haven’t even read Last Breath yet but I’m 99% sure it will be incredible!

Sim Romance – the worst case of insta-love

The Girl Before by J P Delaney

I don’t read YA so luckily I don’t have to put myself through much “insta-love” but the relationships in this book were so unrealistic and happened way too fast.

Cheats – a book that was entirely unrealistic

Maestra by L S Hilton

I’m ashamed to say that I kind of liked this novel, but it was still so unrealistic and stupid.

Needs Fulfilment – a character who made all the wrong decisions

The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald

Gatsby made all the wrong decisions by trying to impress Daisy who is one of my least favourite characters of all time. She didn’t care about Gatsby at all!

Error Code 12 – a series that started off great but went downhill from there

DS Imogen Grey Series by Katerina Diamond

I loved The Teacher and was really excited to see a second book come out but when I read The Secret I was completely let down. I thought the characters were so juvenile and annoying and the plot was totally dumb.

The Sims Vortex – a book/series that completely engrossed you

Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin

I know I’ve spoken about this a lot recently, but it really did have me hooked from the first page!

This was a fun tag, thanks again Lois!

I tag… (no pressure to do this!)

  1. I’ve had my eye on this tag for a while now, so thank you so much for tagging me! I loveddddddd the Sims – even though whenever they died, it totally emotionally scarred me XD And super agree about Gatsby. Literally every decision he made made me want to smack him because you knew they were not the right decision. And lol about Maestra. I have a few books like that. Wonderful tag, Zuky, as always, and cant’ wait to do this one! 🙂
