Thursdays: short story review

If you didn’t already know, I’ve started up a weekly book meme! It involves reading a short story from every week and reviewing it!

Here’s how it works:

  • On Thursday, I will pick a short story from for us to all read…
  • The next Thursday, we will all review the story that was picked the previous week…
  • The review can be in depth or short and snappy! There are no boundaries on how you want to review the story…
  • After my own personal review of that weeks story, I will post the next story to read for next week…
  • And on and on it goes…
  • Please remember to tag back to my post (pingback!!) if you join in on this meme, that way I can read all your reviews!

This weeks read was: The Old Dispensation by Lavie Tidhar

My mini-review:

I’m giving this work a 3 stars because it’s not my normal sort of read (stupid of me, really, because I picked it)! I thought the world building and descriptions were fantastic and I liked, but not loved, the plot.

Not being religious, I got lost with bits and pieces of it, but that could just be me!

Next weeks read is: Tom, Thom by  K. M. Ferebee

Young Tom has always dreamed of wolves, which everyone knows don’t exist. One day he goes out for a log from the woodpile, and when he returns, there is another Tom, like him, but other. This dark and compelling tale from short fiction writer K. M. Ferebee will make you reconsider what may be lurking in the forest.

    1. Thanks Megan and yeah, you don’t even have to download anything, it’s all on the site! I always hyperlink to each of the reads so there’s no need to go searching the site either, just click on the title and it should (hopefully) take you there! 😀

    1. No worries Misty! We all have busy weeks every now and then (plus you didn’t miss much in terms of the story lol). I have a busy working week next week so I was naughty and picked a short I’ve already read (Tom, Thom) and I loved it when I read it so hopefully you’ll get the time to read it because it’s a great short story! 🙂
