The Nintendo Book Tag

the

Thank you so much for Nadwa @ painfullyfiction for tagging me in this unique tag post! I bloody love Nintendo lol.

NES (Nintendo Entertainment System): A classic you want to read

5297
I’m really eager to read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I have it at home, so I don’t know what’s stopping me for getting it read, I just haven’t gotten round to it yet.

SNES (Super Nintendo): A sequel you liked more than the first (can be a second book in a series)

8664244_orig
I preferred The Night Stalker, from the Erika Foster series, more than I did The Girl in the Ice. Both are great reads, Bryndza is an excellent crime writer, but there was something more interesting and dark about this one, which made me like it more.

There were a lot I could have put for this, but Mercy Snow by Tiffany Baker really moved me and it’s got a lovely message about not being too quick to judge a person because of where they have come from or the way they present themselves.

Gamecube: A popular book that did not go over so well with you

18164400
I just did a whole post about books I’ve rated poorly, and Apple Tree Yard by Louise Doughty was one of them. This seemed to gain huge popularity, from getting itself it’s own radio segment to a full blown TV series on the BBC! I don’t get the hype.

Wii: A new favorite book

31378911
This is my latest read, and it’s also my latest 5 star rated book! I loved The Witchfinder’s Sister by Beth Underdown. If you’re into historical fiction that’s mysterious and a bit of a thriller, then this one will go down in your good books (literally)!

Nintendo Power: Favorite graphic novel series or a series you want to start

uzumaki-graphic-novels-1
There are 3 Uzumaki graphic novels that I have just recently purchased. This is definitely a series I can’t wait to start!

Super Mario: A character that you’d love to squish like a Goomba

Mr Darcy. I only read a tiny amount of Pride and Prejudice but I hated him and I wish everyone would stop going on about him.

Zelda: A newer fantasy that you consider to be a modern classic

27833670
The closest thing I’ve read to a fantasy, is probably Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, so I’m just going to go with this. I love this book, as you all know if you’ve been following me for a while.

Samus-Aran: Favorite sci-fi novel or one you want to read

20603758
Since I’ve just named me faovurite sci-fi above, I’ve gone with a sci-fi I can’t wait to read. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline has been on my tbr list for a long, long time now! I really hope it lives up to my expectations.

Pokemon: Book editions that you want to collect

I’ve already spoken about this before, but I really want to collect most of the Clothbound Classics collection by Penguin! I already have a couple of them, but there are loads more to get, and at £15 a piece, it’s not the cheapest collection to aim for.

Donkey Kong: A book with original characters

3316599_orig
American Psycho
by Bret Easton Ellis certainly has an original main character. Patrick Bateman is the perfect character to base a psychopath off if you’re writing your own book.

Nintendo Fandom: Favorite Nintendo game(s) or game

Basically all of them! I super duper love(d) Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, though. More old-school Nintentdo games I loved were things like Mario and Pikmin!

  1. LOL. We literally even picked the same book by Wilde. I’m impressed. And you superrr sold me on The Witch Finder’s Sister yet again. I’m going to have to have to super check it out. And I might as well order Dark Matter now. XD I keep getting so excited every time I see it on your blog. Fantastic post, Zuky!

  2. I have yet to read The Picture of Dorian Gray myself, which is shameful. I only ever watched the Pride and Prejudice movies and have to agree that Mr. Darcy can be so unbelievably insufferable I would probably skip a relationship with him. But oh well, to each their own.
I’ve had my eye on those Penguin editions for a while now, too, but alas, I already want so many others and new ones just keep coming. So not sure I’ll be getting them.
    Great tag! 🙂

    1. I attempted to read the P&P novel but I couldn’t hack it. I saw the film and I think the TV show, if I’m remembering correctly, and yes, he was pretty insufferable!
I’m the same about the Clothbound collection. I have so many other books I want before I get those but they’re so beautiful!
      Thanks! 😀

  3. What, no love for Mr. Darcy?¿? 😂😂😂 hehehe
I collect the clothbounds too!! They are not the cheapest, but neither are they the priciest, maybe the largest!! I am slowly, really slowly, building up the collection, there’s just not enough money in my pocket!
