Thursdays: short story review

If you didn’t see my previous post, I’ve started up a weekly book meme! It involves reading a short story from every week and reviewing it!

Here’s how it works:

  • On Thursday, I will pick a short story from for us to all read…
  • The next Thursday, we will all review the story that was picked the previous week…
  • The review can be in depth or short and snappy! There are no boundaries on how you want to review the story…
  • After my own personal review of that weeks story, I will post the next story to read for next week…
  • And on and on it goes…
  • Please remember to tag back to my post (pingback!!) if you join in on this meme, that way I can read all your reviews!

This weeks read was: Too Fond by Leanna Renee Hieber

My mini-review:

This was a really beautiful short story. This succeeded in mixing the paranormal with romance without making the story cheesy in any way, and it did well to create a creepy atmosphere too.

Both haunting and heartbreaking. This is a superb piece of work.

I can’t wait to here what you guys thought about the story!

Next weeks read is: Reverse Documentary by Marisela Navarro

Dino is a documentary filmmaker, haunted by the ghost of his ex-girlfriend who was killed in a car crash while with another man. As Dino shoots his latest documentary on the vandalism occurring in the woods of his hometown, he tries to move on from her unexpected death. But when his life starts to look up, the ghost encroaches on his property. The focus of the film begins to blur as the lens of the camera shifts onto Dino, the director succumbing to his ghostly obsession.
