This or That Book Tag

Thank you so, so much to A Book. A Thought. for tagging me to do this post. She has a really fab blog that you should all go check out, and judging by the similarity in our answers, she must be a pretty cool person too lol

Rules

  • Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks)
  • Thank the blogger who tagged you
  • Choose one of the options, you don’t have to tell the reasons why you chose that but you can also do them if you want to.
  • Tag other people to do this tag to spread the love!

READING ON THE COUCH OR ON THE BED?

Couch a.k.a sofa. I find myself falling asleep if I read in bed, it’s just toooo comfy so I much prefer reading on the sofa because I can stay awake and devour a book within hours.

MALE MAIN CHARACTER OR FEMALE MAIN CHARACTER?

Male. Female characters in the genres I read (thrillers, mysteries, horror) tend to be a little over hysterical… if the authors could just stop doing that, that would be great, ta.

SWEET SNACKS OR SALTY SNACKS?

Totally depends on my mood! I probably eat way more sweet snacks because I like to eat them in the evening after work, I find I don’t enjoy salty snacks in the evening. But during the day I’d much rather eat salted pretzels or crisps that chocolate!

TRIOLOGIES OR QUARTETS?

I don’t really read either but I’ll go for trilogies!

FIRST PERSON POV OR THIRD POV?

I feel like I probably read more books in first person (maybe) and I like that you can fully immerse yourself into the character this way, but I think we get better character development in third person, so I guess I’ll choose third POV.

READING AT NIGHT OR IN THE MORNING?

I prefer reading at night but I findit easier to read in the morning. I read on the train before work, at 8am, and after work, at 6pm, and definitely get more pages in on my journey to work rather than from work. That being said, I prefer cuddling up under a blanket with a cup of tea in the evening to read.

LIBRARIES OR BOOKSTORES?

Bookstores. Libraries kind of scare me? They’re so quiet and feel so pretentious a lot of the time.

BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU LAUGH OR BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU CRY?

Books that make me laugh! I hate, hate, crying! I mean, I cry a shit load, I’m seriously over emotional, but I don’t like it when it happens. I wouldn’t mind crying with laughter though! (I do that a lot too)!

BLACK BOOK COVERS OR WHITE BOOK COVERS?

Hmm, I don’t really have a preference! They can both be equally gorgeous!

CHARACTER DRIVEN OR PLOT DRIVEN?

Definitely character driven! If the characters are annoying, boring, stupid or too weird then an entire book can be ruined! A book with an average plot but amazing characters will always be better than a book with an amazing plot with horrible characters.

  1. Lol, I’ve seen this tag quite a few times, and I convinced myself that I actually did this. I did not, though, and thanks so much for the tag! I really appreciate it, since it looks like so much fun! 😀 I SO agree about character driven novels – if it doesn’t have a good character – then the plot doesn’t even matter! I do enjoy how you have a set time for your sweet and salty snacks…but then I realized that I do the same! It’s just something about it that makes it so much tastier at the different parts of the day. Anyway, fantastic post – it was so much to read your answers – and thanks so much for the tag! 🙂

    1. Yay! I’m happy you’ll do the tag!
Yes, haha, sweet is sooo much better in the evenings! The only time I’m happy for a salty snack in the evening is at the cinema lol
