Two tags in one day! Wow-wee.

Thank you so much to insidemylibrarymind & Birdie Bookworm for tagging me in this! I love finding out the history of everyone’s blogs and, as I’m reasonably new, advice on how to run a good blog!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  2. Write a post to show your award.
  3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  5. Select other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

The story of how my blog started…

I actually began blogging as a beauty blogger. I had a million and one subscriptions to beauty boxes and I’d just decided to go cruelty free, so I thought I may as well but my passion for makeup down in words. I soon came to realise that I was spending way to much of my money on makeup and began reducing the beauty boxes I got, as well as doing “no buy” weeks to save some cash. So, all the time spare I had from not blogging about all my beauty boxes, I began spending on Goodreads and fell in love with reading again.

From there I changed my entire blog to a book blog! I originally had my site on Weebly, which is a great & very simple to use website builder but I couldn’t have followers or a feed like you get on WordPress and I decided to swap all my stuff over to here at the end of December!

As for the name of my blog, BookBum, I’m not sure there was a thought process on creating the name. I like alliteration (my beauty blog was called The Beauty Buzz) and I kind of think it sounds like a cute pet name, like sweetie pie or honey bun lol.

My two pieces of advice…

Get involved! Whether that be through following lots of blogs and interacting with them on a daily basis, always replying to comments, doing weekly memes or joining blog tours (which I’m yet to do!!), it’s great to make sure you’re putting yourself out there as much as possible. This way, you get your name noticed and you make new friends!

You do you! Don’t be afraid to write what you really feel. There’s no shame in having your own opinions, just make sure you’re not being offensive!

I’m awarding:

No pressure, as always! Have fun!

If you do this tag, please link me to the post in the comments below so I can read your answers!
